U2 2 play The Cheese and Grain in Frome

U2 2 the world’s longest running tribute to U2, are performing in Frome, this Saturday, the 2nd of September.  It will be the band’s first visit to The Cheese & Grain music venue.

The band are look-a-like / sound-a-likes in the same vein as The Bootleg Beatles, a band they shared the bill with at Coventry’s Ricoh Stadium. Formed by current members way

back in 1992, they are celebrating 25 years on the road, with over 1300 concerts played.

Known as, ‘Achtung Baby’ in the 90’s, the band have performed alongside U2, been praised by Bono and also work with The Edge’s cousin on charity events. Indeed, U2’s own

staff have seen the band perform and rate them number one. U2 2 have continually been mistaken for the real thing, both musically (which takes some doing) and visually. Companies

such as Blackberry have hired the band as look-a-likes to promote their product, including The Curve mobile ‘phone. Dutch security at a U2 concert got the bands mixed up and led the chaps

straight into U2’s backstage changing rooms!

Some of their past shows include Dublin’s Point Depot, playing to a packed hall, London’s Under The Stars and even two shows for The Irish team’s fanbase during the 2012 Olympics.

They also performed on a private island off the coast of Monaco, for Pernod and headlined numerous festivals over the last 25 years. The band have been featured many times on national

TV around Europe and even managed to play Sheffield’s Don Valley stadium, many years before U2’s 360 tour.

With their first visit to Frome in many years, the lads will be performing all of U2’s biggest songs.

‘We’re flattered by what they’re doing’ – Bono

‘Seen them a few times, they’re the best…quite stunning as always’ – Aaron Govern U2 staff

‘Amazeballs! The best in the world’ – Ciara Lawrence The Edge’s cousin & Mencap ambassador
