Steve Phillips is headlining the 2013 (Second) Malton Blues Fest
to be held in and around Suddaby’s Crown Hotel May 10th 11th & 12th.
Steve Phillips was a member of the Notting Hillbillies with long time friend and
ex Dire Straits frontman Mark Knoffler,coupled with Bendan Croker making up the
now famous band, Steve will be playing the festival with his regular band
The Rough Diamonds. Steve is one of the finest slide guitarists around and
has his own unique and much admired style on the guitar with vocals to match.
He heads a lineup that has wealth of young homegrown talent, mixed with
some of the best experienced artists around, plus if anyone would like to learn
some new licks on the guitar there’s a sat morning workshop run by one of the
best guitar teachers & itinerant bluesman Roger Sutcliffe who also used to play
with Brendan Croker , ask Roger and he’ll tell you the story, life is just a circle

Friday 10th is an Open Mike Blues session from 8.30-11.30pm ( all welcome no charge),

Sat 11th Workshop is £4 which runs from 10am -12am book for this event please as
we don’t want to disappoint you, Roger has Max number he will teach and I have
already got a few names on my list call me on 01944 738422 and there will be no
audience allowed for this event so please don’t ask.
