Leicester Blues, Rhythm & Rock Festival -

Before we know it Summer will be upon us, and so will this music festival……

Solid Entertainments is delighted to announce that Leicester Blues, Rhythm & Rock Festival will be taking place at Leicester Arena on Sunday 3rd June 2018

The Leicester Arena provides the largest and most flexible space in the city. Costing £4.5 million and with over 2,440m2 of floor space in the main Arena, the facility hosts a wide range of events, with access to superb catering facilities and on-site complimentary car parking.  In close proximity to the city centre, it is also easily accessible by public transport

As this is our first festival in Leicester, we wanted to capitalise on the superb facilities available at the Arena and mark the occasion by delivering our most ambitious one day live music event to date!  With an international flavour and some of the greatest names in blues rock history in the mix; Walter Trout headlining, the legendary Dr Feelgood and Climax Blues Band plus seven other very different, but striking acts in the line-up, this will undoubtedly be a great festival and one live music event not to miss in the region!

Having survived a near-death bout with liver disease and a liver transplant in 2014, Walter Trout is now full of energy and joie de vivre, and wants to make every note, every gig, and every day count.  Walter has never felt more alive, thankful, and excited to perform.  He is currently writing material for upcoming releases and finds himself at a creative peak.  This is one artist that you really need to see on stage, but until you do, you can get a feel for what’s in store by having a look and listen to him playing a beautiful sounding, heartfelt song “We’re All In This Together” (feat. Joe Bonamassa) at

This year’s full line-up comprises of:

Walter Trout – need anything else be said!

Dr Feelgood – formed on Canvey Island in Essex in the early 1970s Dr. Feelgood remains one of the most popular and exciting live rhythm and blues acts in the world!

Climax Blues Band – it’s been a long road, but one thing for sure is that the Climax Blues Band of today carries the same Kitemark as it did when the band formed in the late 60s!

Ken Pustelnik’s Groundhogs – Historically speaking, Groundhogs in their current form have been in existence for but a moment in time, yet their back story is extensive and varied!

Stacie Collins – sporting a slam-bang rock ‘n’ roll band and a hard-core honky-tonk wail, the Nashville based singer-songwriter pushes the boundaries of rock, blues and country!

Ben Poole – the twenty-eight year old is currently being described as one the most exciting young Rock, Blues & Soul artists to come out of the UK for a long, long time!

The Luke Doherty Band – Since he found an old music VHS in a cupboard when he was 7 years old, featuring several Blues players, Luke is never happier than when he is playing Blues!

Mark Pontin Group – never happier than when they are on the stage utilising not only their remarkable individual talents but also great interplay and improvisation; no two shows the same!

Jimmy Regal And The Royals – a howlin’ blues three piece, harmonica, guitar, drums, modelled after acts like RL Burnside, T Model Ford and in the tradition of Hound Dog Taylor!

Cheri Lyn – loyal to the spirit of 70’s and 80’s Blues, Rock and Soul, the power vocalist evokes the legends of old while retaining a modern, contemporary, cutting edge mix!

With this calibre of artist stepping on stage, festival goers will see top class live performances and hear a range of incredible sounds with sets that incorporate a creative mix of Blues, Rock and R & B, with plenty of heart and soul in this year’s mix!

No need to worry about searching for food and drinks on the day either, there will be a range of alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages, real ales available and a varied menu that should meet everyone’s taste!
